Lodging map
Children suffering from a rare disease in the FIMATHO network often require hospitalisation far from their residence, in hospitals adapted to the treatment of their pathology. Also, patients (children or adults) regularly have to have doctor's visits or undergo medical exams without conventional hospitalisation in a reference centre far from their residence.
In this context, the AFAO association, winner of the FIMATHO 2019 call for projects, has developed, with the support from the FIMATHO network, a map listing housing solutions for adult patients and parents or those accompanying the hospitalised patients, located near the network’s reference and knowledge centres:
- Family guest houses (hospital guest houses, parents’ houses, foundations, etc.)
- Other lodging options near hospitals (hotels, hostels, religious institutions, etc.)
Because there may not always be any accommodation solutions for families and patients, network associations have strived to identify, among their members:
- Host families who volunteer to lodge the parents of hospitalised children, families and/or adult patients (inventory in progress).
Below you will find an interactive map of these three types of lodging options. Zoom in on your region to discover all existing solutions and refine your search using the various filters.
Please note, for adult patients, new non-medical temporary accommodation solutions called "Hospital hotels" are being developed across France. To learn more, contact your health care facility, which will indicate whether your hospital participates in this experiment.
